Idle Time
Time-Aid has three mechanisms for logging the time that you are not on your computer.
#1 Computer Inactivity
If you do not use your keyboard or mouse for 5 minutes, the system sees this as computer idle time. So this shows up as a blank on your Planner View. It doesn't matter if you have email alerts popping up, or incoming Skype calls, etc. The system looks for mouse or keyboard activity to know that you are active on the machine.
#2 Idle Time Pop-up
You can configure Time-Aid to pop-up a box after the computer has been idle for a set period of time. This way, if you are away at a meeting, lunch, or on the phone for an extended duration, the system will prompt you to log that activity. This configuration is set under the ADMIN button at the bottom right of the main Time-Aid screen. You can also choose to turn this completely off.
#3 Manually Logging Away Time
Right click on the Time-Aid icon from the sys tray area at the bottom right of your Windows screen and click on the Manual Event option, or from inside the Time-Aid window, click the EVENT button at the bottom right, and you will get the manual event timer. Indicate your activity and leave it running. When you return to your computer, end the event, and the time is logged according to your description.

- It can be turned off
- Users decide how long the system must be idle before it pops up.

To start a manual event, right-click the Time-Aid icon from down by your clock.

The automatic logging is the key feature for me. The drag and drop just makes it easy. I worked a crazy week and Time-Aid / BlackTrack captured every minute. There is no way I could have manually logged all that.
